Where your guests settle in — and how the welcome dinner, the vows, the long beachfront reception and the slow Sunday recovery fall into place.
You're not just choosing a ceremony spot — you're hosting guests for a whole weekend. This guide shows how the pieces fit together so the weekend feels effortless, not stitched together at the last minute.
Base the weekend in one of these pockets and book the house first — everything after is walkable or a short ride away.

The beachside-luxury heart — resorts and apartments between Main Beach and the river, with the restaurants, bars and boutiques of Hastings Street at the door. Closest to the action; the priciest base.
A laidback riverside stretch along the Noosa River — two kilometres of grassy foreshore, family-friendly and better value for groups, a short hop from Noosa Heads.

A quieter surf village five minutes south around the headland — open-ocean beach, a slower pace, and whales passing offshore from June to October.

Evening light on the bay, the sand a few steps away — and the whole party right there when you need a moment of air between courses.

Modern Asian sharing plates on Hastings Street — a lively, central first-night spot for arriving guests.
Kick the weekend off loud and easy. Bang Bang does modern Asian at volume — the room hums, the plates keep coming, and no one has to make polite conversation over a hushed white tablecloth.

A council-permit ceremony grove on the Noosa Main Beach foreshore — a grassy, treed plateau on the dunes, a short walk from Hastings Street.
The vows themselves, held in a treed grove on the Main Beach dunes — council-permit, not a private venue, which is half its charm. A grassy plateau just off the boardwalk, sand a few steps away, Hastings Street close enough that guests wander over after. It's a public space (you book the time, not exclusive use) and exposed to the afternoon breeze, so a wet-weather plan matters — and the foreshore shuts for a few weeks each spring.

Dinner with your feet almost in the sand. A Noosa landmark since 1994 — beachfront tables, evening light on Laguna Bay, and the beach right there when you need a moment of air between courses.
Beachfront modern Australian from a kitchen that holds an AGFG Chef Hat — lean into the seafood.
Toast with something sparkling, then let the floor team steer the list.
A landmark dining room on Main Beach since 1994 — reserve early for a Saturday.

A neighbourhood natural-wine bar in Noosa Junction — the natural post-reception wind-on. No bookings; walk in.
When the reception winds down, spill over to Theo's — a low-lit natural-wine bar in the Junction, vinyl on the turntable, the list long and low-intervention, nobody checking the time.

Beachfront brunch on Main Beach — a Noosa boardwalk fixture since the early ’90s. Eat, then roll straight into a swim.
The slow goodbye. Beachfront brunch on Main Beach, then straight into the water while everyone swaps the night's highlights. Low effort, high reward — the perfect full stop.
Yes. Noosa is about 1.5–2 hours’ drive from Brisbane, and Sunshine Coast Airport (Maroochydore) is roughly 30 minutes away with direct Qantas, Virgin and Jetstar flights from Sydney and Melbourne. That makes it one of the easier premium Queensland destinations for flying guests.
A wide range — but the ceremony site sets the ceiling. The popular Noosa Main Beach foreshore groves (like Hidden Grove) permit up to 100 guests on a council 3-hour permit; smaller coves such as Little Cove cap at 25 (or 15 on the platform). The weekend format suits a mid-sized party — enough to fill the welcome dinner and brunch, small enough that the logistics stay manageable.
Spring (September–November) and autumn (March–May) are the peak windows — drier, milder and less humid. September is statistically the driest month; February and March the wettest. Treat the storm season (November–April) as a real factor for an outdoor ceremony, and line up a wet-weather backup.
Most are Noosa Shire Council public sites booked by permit — up to 14 months ahead, non-refundable, with a 2- or 3-hour window depending on the location. No confetti or alcohol, equipment is limited, and a permit reserves the time but not exclusive use. National Park spots (Tea Tree Bay, Hells Gate and the like) need a separate Queensland Parks permit.
Fly into Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY) and drive or transfer to Noosa in around 30 minutes, or fly into Brisbane and drive up in about 1.5–2 hours. A shuttle or pre-booked transfers are worth arranging for the reception night so guests aren’t driving.
