Is Noosa a good choice for interstate wedding guests?
Yes. Noosa is about 1.5–2 hours’ drive from Brisbane, and Sunshine Coast Airport (Maroochydore) is roughly 30 minutes away with direct Qantas, Virgin and Jetstar flights from Sydney and Melbourne. That makes it one of the easier premium Queensland destinations for flying guests.
What size wedding works in Noosa?
A wide range — but the ceremony site sets the ceiling. The popular Noosa Main Beach foreshore groves (like Hidden Grove) permit up to 100 guests on a council 3-hour permit; smaller coves such as Little Cove cap at 25 (or 15 on the platform). The weekend format suits a mid-sized party — enough to fill the welcome dinner and brunch, small enough that the logistics stay manageable.
When is the best time of year for a Noosa wedding?
Spring (September–November) and autumn (March–May) are the peak windows — drier, milder and less humid. September is statistically the driest month; February and March the wettest. Treat the storm season (November–April) as a real factor for an outdoor ceremony, and line up a wet-weather backup.
How do Noosa beach ceremony sites work?
Most are Noosa Shire Council public sites booked by permit — up to 14 months ahead, non-refundable, with a 2- or 3-hour window depending on the location. No confetti or alcohol, equipment is limited, and a permit reserves the time but not exclusive use. National Park spots (Tea Tree Bay, Hells Gate and the like) need a separate Queensland Parks permit.
How do guests get to Noosa?
Fly into Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY) and drive or transfer to Noosa in around 30 minutes, or fly into Brisbane and drive up in about 1.5–2 hours. A shuttle or pre-booked transfers are worth arranging for the reception night so guests aren’t driving.
